    As an independent researcher, Durgesh's research interests are in Eastern Religions in International Relations. He was awarded the Royal Roads University's Chancellor's Award for the highest academic achievement among all Doctoral candidates graduating in year 2017. A practising Buddhist, he is also a member of the Canadian International Council.

    Dr. Soroka earned his PhD from Harvard University in 2014, specializing in the comparative politics and IR of post-communist Europe. He looks at the role of identity politics and religion in foreign affairs, particularly Poland, Russia and Ukraine. Current research: the relationship between the Orthodox Church and the Russian state and its foreign-policy establishment.

    Professor Weiss has published extensively on social development, gender issues and political Islam in Pakistan. Her most recent book is Countering Violent Extremism in Pakistan: Local Actions, Local Voices (Oxford University Press 2020). She is a member of the editorial board of Globalizations as well as a number of journals from Pakistan.
