The New-York Historical Society (New-York Historical) will present Acts of Faith: Religion and the American West, an expansive public history project comprising a major historical traveling exhibition (on view in New York from September 2022–February 2023), accompanying educational initiatives, and a scholarly fellowship program.
To promote public-facing scholarship on the topic of religion and the American West and to disseminate the work to new audiences, the Henry Luce Foundation has provided a grant to support, in conjunction with this exhibit, the establishment of an early career fellows program, with eight scholars, that advances research in the fields of United States history and religious studies. The stipend for this fellowship is $3,000, with additional reimbursement for approved research expenses, and funds to cover travel and lodging for a final meeting. |
